There cannot be one team in Europe who would fancy taking on Manchester city at the moment but today being Sunday, arsenal have no choice as they travel to the Etihad for an afternoon meeting in the premier league.
Manchester City start the weekend sitting top of the league and even if they fail to win this match, will remain there going into the international break. However, with a 5-point cushion over second place Manchester United, who face Chelsea on Sunday, Pep Guardiola will be aiming to extend their lead at the top.
Arsenal make the trip north knowing they need to keep themselves in contention for the fourth Champions League place. Having failed to deliver Champions League football for this season, Arsene Wenger knows he cannot afford to fail again.
Manchester City have been in tremendous form and have won each of their last fourteen matches in all competitions, including the victory on penalties over Wolves in the League Cup.
Trends show the Citizens have won their last eight games in the Premier League and come into this match full of confidence having defeated Napoli 4-2 away from home in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

Manchester City have lost just one of their previous twenty home matches in the Premier League and have won by 3 more goals in their last four home league games in a row.
Arsenal come into this match having been held 0-0 at home by Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on Tuesday night. However, the result was still enough to guarantee them a place in the knockout stages of the tournament.
Arsenal are undefeated in their last five matches in all competitions, winning four of them prior to the draw on Thursday night. Two of those games were in the Premier League and Arsenal defeated Everton 5-2 away and Swansea City 2-1 at home.
Wenger will be pleased to have got the win at Everton ahead of this game as prior to that result, Arsenal had failed to win an away match in the Premier League this season.
Trends show the Gunners have kept just one clean sheet in their five away league games and have failed to score themselves in three of them.
Looking ahead to the team news and Manchester City continue to miss Benjamin Mendy and Vincent Kompany but every other player is available for selection. Kyle Walker, David Silva and Gabriel Jesus are expected to come back into the starting XI having missed out in mid-week.
Arsenal are without the injured trio of Danny Welbeck, Santi Cazorla and Shkodran Mustafi. Sead Kolasinac missed the Europa League game on Thursday and Wenger will be hoping he is fit to return in the left wing-back position.
Manchester City are in tremendous form right now and not only are they picking up wins, they are doing so by playing attacking football which is good on the eye. Having defeated Liverpool and Chelsea already this season, Guardiola will be expecting another 3 points and Arsenal’s defence will struggle to keep the home team out.
Arsenal may manage a goal themselves with Alexis Sanchez and Alexandre Lacazette up-front but anything other than a home win would be a surprise.
